Head of Product
A specialist tour operator is now looking to recruit an experienced Head of Product to join their expanding team.
As the head of department your primary role will be to strategically and commercially develop the brand and portfolio of product and destination, by creating new, exclusive and unique product. You will support the Managing Director in all Sales, Product Development, Marketing, Website and E-developments that proactively promotes the company.
As a Head of Product you will undertake an array of tasks & responsibilities:
• Manage a team on daily basis, reviews, sales initiatives, office administrations etc
• Ensure that you are aware of the Company's business plan, aims, objectives and targets
• Generate sales leads and enquires and where required (dependant on background and product knowledge) sell to the public
• Development, implementation and management of UK consumer and key partner PR and marketing campaigns, events and projects
• Project manage and coordinate the changes to the Website
• Working with the Marketing assistants and Website agency, ensure that any communication written or uploaded onto the website is accurate and is 'key word rich'
• Manage and implement appropriate new product, ensuring this is backed up with a budget and supporting sales forecast and a marketing strategy
• Regular meetings with the other product and Marketing assistant to capture their comments on any possible updates/improvements to the 'conservation' campaigns worldwide
• Attend holiday shows, travel workshops, trade events as required. (These could involve some evenings and weekends and overseas travel).
• Design of company/departmental sales and product strategies
• Maintain an awareness and contribute towards a cost effective and pro-active marketing & PR department
• Design yearly business plans and budgets that support a detailed business plan with specific tasks and responsibilities

Head Of Product skill attributes:
• 5+ years experience of working in all areas of Tour Operating
• Excellent knowledge and experience of conservation/wildlife type holidays
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Ability to thrive on working in a pressurised environment and to strict deadlines
• Teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer office skills, including practical skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Public speaking & presentation skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Proven negotiation skills at senior level
